Homestead Heroes Benefit a SUCCESS!
NAPERVILLE, IL (November 2012)—Our Children’s Homestead, a local non-profit foster care and adoption agency, held it's 10th Annual Homestead Heroes Benefit dinner on Saturday, November 10th at the Hyatt Lodge in Oakbrook. The evening began with a great gathering of people browsing over 30 silent auction items which included paintings from one of our foster children, a NASCAR driving experience and dinner for 10, with wine pairing, from Sullivan's Steakhouse.
165 people were able to celebrate the services Our Children's Homestead provides for the foster children under our care. The highlights of the evening included a variety of performances from a few of our foster children who are in our L.E.A.P. program. This program helps our children have an additional form of therapy by choosing an activity that they want to pursue. They can pick something that interests them and we find businesses or organizations in the community to provide these services free of charge. The children that performed painted some pictures, played guitar, sang a song and took some pictures.
We were so very proud of what they have accomplished, especially that evening and everyone in attendance enjoyed getting to know them!
We thank our sponsors Clarendon Hills Bank, Minuteman Press, Digital Benefit Adivsors, Matsock Insurance and the GLANCER Magazine for their support. Thank you too to all our supporters that attended and are so grateful for the money raised to support our programs.
