Mandatory Job Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age.

Requires and passes background clearances to include members of the household, age 13 and older

High school diploma or equivalent, some college desirable.

Valid Illinois Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Valid auto insurance.

Must provide a safe, stable, clean and healthy physical environment for the child.

Integrate the child in family unit to include all family activities and promotes healthy relationships in the family.

Maintains employment with Our Children’s Homestead as primary employer.

Models and teaches age-appropriate healthy and developmental skills.

Must be a current licensed foster parent or willingness to become licensed.

 

Desired Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of DCFS wards 12 and over.

4-6 years of proven, quality experience in social services strongly desired.

Current or previously licensed foster care providers preferred.
