Homestead Care is a unique approach to foster care...
Our Children’s Homestead (OCH) has created an innovative approach to the foster care and the medically complex community by creating the concept of the “Homestead Care Project.” A cul-de-sac filled with eight homes, located in Crest Hill right outside of Joliet, has shaped a small community and network of care for all the families living there. The delivery of care tailored to meet the needs of each child is readily available and rendered at the site while respecting the fact that each home needs to be treated as a home. This is not an institutional setting but a real neighborhood.

The eighth and final home of this project is estimated to be completed at the end of February 2006.
Spring will truly bring new beginnings for the eight families living in this cul-de-sac.
